The Shura Council is committed to strengthening relationships between Muslims and the broader community, says an e-mail message. It adds: Since 2002, thousands of visitors have participated, promoting better understanding and helping build positive relations with their neighbors and people of different faiths and cultures.
By the grace of God, the idea of Open Mosque Day has grown beyond its original scope. It has been adopted by the US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) and many Shura Councils across various states, and has been embraced by mosques throughout the United States and around the world. It has evolved into a recognized platform for fostering interfaith understanding, building meaningful relationships, and strengthening connections between mosques and the broader community.
